The US asks Arafat for more measures against persons wanted by Israel

The spokesman for the US state department Richard Boucher has considered the detention of several Palestinians following Israel's seizure of the Karine weapons ship as a positive matter, but he also called for more measures and that more be done by the Palestinian Authority.

Boucher also said that the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat is responsible for this matter. He called for immediate and constant measures against those who are accused by Israel of being behind this operation.

Arafat who denied any involvement in this case gave his instructions to investigate this matter.
