Bin Aliazer proposes negotiation with Syria

The London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat said on Friday that the Israeli defense minister Benjamin Bin Aliazer has announced he had proposed to the American mediator Anthony Zinni during their recent meeting to enlarge the scale of his mission so as to include the resumption of negotiations between Israel and each of Syria and Lebanon.

The paper quoted Bin Aliazer as saying that he has fully realized that Syria will not be enthusiastic nor encouraged for such negotiations but he is, anyway, concerned with launching a good intention initiative towards Syria. "
