Some 11 killed, wounded in acts of violence in Algeria

The Algerian papers said in their December 20 issues said that 7 persons were killed and other 4 wounded between Friday and Sunday in acts of violence in Algeria.

Two policemen were killed on Friday evening in " Ayat Yahya Mousa " in " Teizi Ozo " district by armed Islamic groups. The two policemen were assassinated in a cafe by a group of ten armed groups, according to the sources.

Two young men were shot and other two wounded on Sunday as a bomb went off in " Ayat Oban" in the same area.

A nationalist (an armed civilian) was shot on Saturday in al-Nasereyah in Bumerdas areas while two other persons were strongly wounded in an ambush implanted in Korso in the same area, according to the papers.

The papers also said the body of a shepherd was found on Saturday in " Okada" area in Bashar district ( 960 Km to the west of the capital.) Moreover one Islamist was killed on Saturday by the Algerian security forces in al-Zaweyah in Telmasan (Algeria's far west,) according to the same sources. In all number of killing in Algeria as a result of acts of violence since the beginning of December tolled 60, according to official and press statistics.
