A general referendum in Comoros on the new constitution project

Authorities in Comoros have concluded all arrangements for the first general referendum on the proposed new draft constitution which offers local authorities in the four islands ( Comoros) vast administrative authorities together with changing the name of the country to a federal state instead of the ( Islamic state), as well as changing the color of the official flag.

Voters in the republic of Comoros will head to the voting ballots on Sunday, which were prepared by the UN human development program to vote " yes" or " no" on the constitution project which is considered the most important step in the reconciliation agreement signed by the government of Comoros with opponent groups in the city of Fobmoti in February of 2000.

News reports from Comoros said that the public there is in a state of clear division and is split between who is with or against the new constitution of the country especially the disputes towards the nature of the provisional phase which precedes the presidential elections due to be held after announcing the result of the referendum over the new constitution.
