Two Nigerien brought to Moroccan court for swindling
The police has recently arrested and brought to justice two men from Niger for trying to swindle a Casablanca businessman.
The two culprits claimed they were rich notables, political refugees in Morocco in search for good business opportunities. They would then ask the victim to give them money to buy a substance needed to erase the ink which they put on money for security considerations.
After they conduct a test on a banknote in the presence of the victim, they claim a sum of money, sometimes up to 340,000 DH (30,090 US$), to carry on the operation. Once in possession of the cash, they vanish.
