Morocco's dams filled at 42 percent

Originally published

Water reserves stored in dams across Morocco stand at 42 percent of the reservoirs capacity, according to figures disclosed Dec. 10.

The equipment department said in a release that the rainfall is recording this year a deficit over last year in all parts of Morocco except areas in north-western and north-eastern Morocco.

Morocco is facing a fourth consecutive dry season that risks to deal a serious blow to agriculture, which contributes nearly 18 percent to the country's DGP and employs half of a 10-million workforce.
