General Assembly adopts seven resolutions on Palestinian cause

Originally published

The United Nations General Assembly has adopted seven resolutions on the Palestinian cause. The General Assembly urged all member states to extend aid for securing economic and social development of the Palestinian cause and occupied territories.

It underlined the right of all those who have been displaced as a result of fighting in June 1967 and after that date, to return to their homes in the territories which have been occupied since 1967.

One of the General Assembly Resolutions called on Israel to abandon the policy of closure and restricted movement of persons and goods which has thus affected the social and economic condition of the Palestinian population mainly Palestinian refugees.

Another resolution said Palestinian Arabs are having the right to restore their properties and to get the revenue accruing from them in conformity with the rules of justice and fairness.

It said Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories including Jerusalem and the Syrian Golan heights are illegal and pose an obstacle before peace, social and economic development.
