US voices will to promote American investments in Morocco
The US administration will do its best to increase the flow of US investment to Morocco, US ambassador to Morocco, Ms. Margaret Tutwiler said on Wednesday.
The diplomat, who was speaking at a press conference in Rabat, conceded that the increase of this flow depends on the business environment in Morocco.
She noted that Morocco is a country of interest for the US economic operators in view of the reforms that the country is ushering in.
The Business community in the USA is closely following the evolution of these reforms, Tutwiler said, renewing her country's attachment to the Eizenstat Initiative geared towards enhancing US-Maghreb partnership.
"The commitment is strong and ongoing," she said.
The initiative, launched in 1998 by Stuart Eizenstat, former under-secretary for the treasury, seeks an economic partnership between Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia on the one hand, and the USA, on the other.
It revolves around involving the private sector in the development of exchanges between the two sides, the consolidation of dialogue at the highest level through bilateral consultation and support to structural reforms in the Maghreb region.
