The German hostage in Yemen

The attack launched by the Yemeni army and police at the kidnappers of a German hostage held since one week by a tribe near Sanaa continued on Wednesday, however, the fate of the hostage is still unknown.

An official in the Yemeni police told reporters that army and police units continued their attack at the place of the kidnappers in the surrounding of al- Muhjiza village in the mountainous area of Serwaj, 140 Km to the east of Sanaa.

A tribal source said the attack which was resumed on Tuesday following a 48- hour truce, so far resulted in killing three members of the tribe and two policemen as well as wounding tens others.
