Jordanian King to visit Iran very soon

Well-informed diplomatic sources said that the Jordanian King Abdullah II will visit Iran shortly at the invitation of the Iranian President Muhammad Khatami.

The Iranian ambassador to Jordan Nasratullah Tajik said that this " visit was set before but was postponed because of the international incidents and that his country is waiting for setting a new date for this visit."

The Iranian ambassador added that the Jordanian- Iranian joint economic committee will hold its 6th meeting by the end of this year or the beginning of 2002 in Iran in the presence of the ministers of industry in the two countries.

He stressed his country's desire to invest in economic sectors in Jordan and to encourage Iranian companies and investors for that.
