Mousa highlights AL interests

Originally published

The secretary general of the Arab league Amre Mousa has stressed that the AL gives priority and utmost interest to the Arab- israeli conflict, the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and means of fighting international terrorism.

In a statement he made on Sunday to al-Sharq radio ( orient radio) Mousa added that the AL also concentrates on the campaign of distortion directed against the Arabs and the Arab culture and the accusations currently made against Arab and Islamic identity and civilization abroad.

Mousa welcomed the American statements concerning the foundation of the Palestinian state but on the condition that these will be translated into a clear initiative, noting that it is not accepted to " accuse resistance against the Israeli occupation of terrorism." Mousa indicated the need of strengthening the Arab- European dialogue, reforming and structuring this dialogue towards the Palestinian questions and other issues and matters of concern to culture, science and culture in the Arab states.
