Football: South Africa candidate to host Africa Nations Cup in 2006

South Africa said it will submit its candidacy to host the African nations football cup in 2006.

South Africa will do its best to host the Can-2006. This is part of the strategy to host the World football cup in 2010, said an official from the South African football federation, Danny Jordan.

South Africa will thus be the third candidate to host Can-2006 after Morocco and Egypt.

Can-2002 will be held in Mali next January, while Can-2004 will be staged in Tunisia.
