Syrian judicial source: arresting al-Turk is in the hand of specialized judicial authorities

A judicial source in Damascus said that Mr Riyadh al-Turk was arrested and brought before the court, according to provisions of the criminal trials and also provisions of the Syrian general punishment law and that this case has now become in the hand of specialized judicial authority, which are eligible to apply justice in accordance with the rules of the law.

In this respect, the political editor of the Syrian Tishreen daily said:" the State has opened the door wide before the various social strata and individuals to effectively take part in the process of development and modernization, led wisely by President Bashar al-Assad. However, very few in number and validity seek just to create negative atmospheres, through violating the general law and distorting the bright image of the great achievements which are the source of pride for our country and people."
