Originally published

An emergency meeting for the council of the Arab ministers of information will be held on Wednesday, August 15 at the headquarters of the general secretariat of the Arab League, according to a statement made by the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa on Sunday in Cairo.

Moussa added that he had received an official proposal from the Lebanese minister of information Ghazi al-Aridi to convene an emergency meeting for the council of the Arab information ministers in light of the deteriorated conditions taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories especially in occupied Jerusalem with the aim to agree a plan for an Arab media move and to crystallize an Arab media position to withstand the aggressive Israeli practices against the unarmed Palestinian.

Moussa added that he had made immediate contacts with the Lebanese minister and with several Arab ministers of information to prepare for the emergency meeting.
