Maher belies reports on follow-up committee

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher denied that he criticized the follow-up committee stemming from the Arab summit. Replying to a question on a newspaper report that he lashed out at the follow-up committee, Maher said he only wanted to explain the committee's task in order to avert misunderstanding.

He noted that his statements fell within the context of explanations over the notion that the committee separate decisions and Egypt's contacts with Israel do not violate any resolutions but rather fall within arduous efforts to support the Palestinian cause.
