Barak was responsible for failure of negotiations with Syria, the Palestinians
Former US President Bill Clinton has held the former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak responsible for the failure of the negotiations with Syria and the Palestinian Authority.
In an article to be published by the American " New York Review" the advisor of President Clinton Robert Malley said, quoting President Clinton that Barak wanted Clinton to be during his meeting with the late Syrian President Hafez al-Assad in Geneva as just a special envoy for him to President al-Assad, adding that Clinton only felt during his meeting with al-Assad that he was just an Israeli envoy by Barak.
Malley added that the way Barak negotiated in Camp David with the Palestinians in the year 2000 led to the failure of these negotiations whereas the US administration had much ignored his ( Barak) faults, and this was under the pretext that it wanted to reach what it then considered a historical agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.
