Arab information ministers conclude their Beirut's session

Originally published

The council of the Arab ministers of information on Wednesday concluded its 34th session which was held in Beirut and attended by 22 Arab states.

The council's final statement stressed "the need of Israel's removal of its settlements in the Golan and Palestine because the physical existence of such settlements is a war crime, according to the International law and its continuity would result in perpetuating the military occupation of the Arab territories and the continued racist control on the Palestinians."

The council stressed that the existence of the settlement is an element of explosion that is the most dangerous in the Middle East.

It stressed the need for Arab media defiance of hostile media in its attempt to distort the conflict in Palestine through hiding facts on that there is an illegal occupation for the palestinian under the alleged title " land under conflict" as well as treating equally both the killer and the victim also under the title " reciprocated violence." A matter which prevented the world public opinion to understand the reality of what is taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories and its bias policy to Israel.

The Arab information ministers also called for highlighting the Israeli policy of assassinating Palestinian figures by the Israeli army and settlers and unmasking its practices which all violate the principles of the international law and to stress the right of resisting the occupation by all means.

They called for "not maintaining normalization with the Zionist entity and not to permit the Israeli side to have its own say in the Arab media, as well as to abide by the resolutions of the Arab summit to this effect."

The Arab information ministers decided to allocate an Arab space station in the English language and in other languages to introduce Arab causes and positions in the context of contemporary media address.

They also stressed the need of concentrating on the strategic option of a durable, just and comprehensive peace through Israel's commitment to UN Security Council resolutions 242, 338 and 425 provide for Israel's immediate and unconditional withdrawal from the Shebaa farms and the occupied Syrian Golan until June 4, 1967 and from all occupied Palestinian territories.

They also stressed the need of using Arab web-sites on the Internet in support of the Palestinian Intifada and called for integration of the Arab media in maintaining common political and cultural policies.
