Al-Zanoun to visit Damascus

The chairman of the Palestinian national council Salim al-Zanoun has announced he will visit Damascus by the end of the current month on top of a delegation from the council at the invitation of the speaker of the Syrian People "s Assembly (PA).

In a statement to the Jordanian daily al-Arab al-Youm issued on Tuesday he said he is waiting a reply from the Syrian PA to define the date of the visit, noting that the Syrian PA prefers the visit to be at a time when Syrian officials are available in Damascus so as the Palestinian delegation will be meeting with them.
