Iraqi oil production slowed by UN sanctions obstacles
The Iraqi oil minister Amer Muhammad Rashid said on May 4 in Baghdad that Iraq's oil production does not exceed three million barrels of oil per day because of the great shortage in the spare parts of the Iraqi oil institutions.
Rashid said that Iraq has only received 25% of the equipment and spare parts relating to the oil sector in the framework of the oil-for-food program, because of the obstacles placed by the US and British representatives at the UN sanctions committee.
Worthy mentioning that the UN announced last week that the Iraqi oil exports reached in the mid of April this year about 3.5 million barrels a day has receded to an average of 2.5 million barrel a day.
