The Arab League assistant for Inter- Arab affairs Ahmad Bin Hali announced on Thursday in Cairo the postponement of the first meeting of the Arab follow up committee in charge of implementing the recent Amman's Arab summit to the second half o May instead of April 30.

In statements he made in Cairo on Thursday Bin Hali added that it was agreed to have the proposed date after mid-May, when Amr Moussa will assume the task of the Secretary General of the Arab League, so as the Arab ministers members in the committee will take part.

On the new formation of the committee Bin Hali said that the prevailing trend is to keep the former formation of the committee which includes nine countries, namely Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco and to expand the membership to cover other three Arab states that asked to join the committee which are Algeria, Libya and Yemen.

He continued that the first meeting will discuss a detailed report prepared by the committee on following up the implementation of the resolutions of the summit since its launching in Amman in March and to discuss the grave developments in the region in light of expanding the Israeli aggression against the Arab people in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon and to discuss all matters pertaining to the Arab Israeli conflict and continued backing for the Palestinian Intifada.
