An Arab- Israeli war is expected in June

Originally published

A report sneaked by the Israeli military intelligence, known as "Amaan," described as secret, expected the possibility of a war to be erupted between the Arabs and Israel in June.

The Kuwaiti daily al-Watan which published this news on Monday said that as it does not rule out that the report implies mere intelligence aims, however, its content and information reflect, undoubtedly the vision of the Israeli military circles for prospects of peace and wars and assessment for the standing Arab position.

The report which was also issued in the Russian language that Egypt is the only Arab state which owns enough military and economic power to threaten Israel and does not rule out a change in the inclination of the Egyptian leadership towards adopting tougher positions towards Israel, considering that the element of surprise will mark the beginning of war with Egypt and one " who attacks first will eventually be victorious."

The report draws a scenario of a surprise attack against Egypt by starting to occupy the crossing of al-Sweis Gulf and al-Aqaba and to have control on the sea opening, preferring Israel to break the peace agreement with Egypt so as to protect itself against a surprising strike.

The report sees that the only danger comes from Syria is through south Lebanon, rather from the Golan, noting that heavy casualties will be inflicted on the Israeli forces if they are involved in a new invasion of the Lebanese depth, ruling out any war operations from Jordan.

The report expected Turkey to help Israel through supplying its with necessary information by using its military bases to strike positions in Syria and other Arab states. The report, on the other hand expected Hamas and Hizbullah to strike the backward Israeli lines. A mater which necessitates Israel's occupation of south Lebanon and the West Bank.

The report indicated two hypothesis for war. The first is a pan- Arab- Israeli war and the second is a surprising strike, similar to the scenario of 1967.
