Abdul Miguid and the Amman summit

Originally published

The secretary general of the Arab League (AL) Ismat Abdul Miguid has asserted that the recent Arab summit in Amman has not achieved every thing inspired by the Arab citizen towards several Arab issues.

In a statement to the Sudanese daily al-Rai al-Am issued on Saturday, the AL chief added that the Arab summit has not achieved all we hoped or what the final statement had contained to be better than what was stated.

Abdul Miguid talked about the Arab unanimous stand to back the Palestinian Intifada in the occupied Arab territories and attributed the delay in reaching the support to the Palestinian people for banking and routine reasons.

He described the Amman's summit regret over the US veto as very important because it represented an Arab political position towards events concerning the middle east.

Abdul Miguid noted that he had received a message from former US President Bill Clinton after American bombarded al-Shefaa factory in al-Khartoum with the aim of silencing the Arab League not to speak-out its position concerning this strike. He added that in retaliation to this message " I had visited al-Shefaa factory in the second days from receiving the message."

Abdul Miguid renewed deliberate rejection for the partition of Sudan and violation of its unity, noting the tremendous agricultural potentials Sudan enjoys and the need of Arab investment of these potentials.
