Qatari- Bahraini higher joint committee meets this month
A high ranking Qatari official said on Thursday that the Bahraini- Qatari higher committee will meet during the second half of this month for the first time since the end of the border disputes between the two states.
The Qatari official who asked not to be identified said that " the Bahraini crown prince Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad al-Khaleifa will come to Doha to preside together with Qatar's crown prince Sheikh Jasem Bin Hamad al-Thani works of the committee." He denied that the date set for the meeting to be next Monday, as reported by certain Qatari dailies and expected the meeting to be " in the week to be followed."
During his visit to Qatar on March 20, the ruler of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa noted the prospects of joint projects between the two sides, including a bridge linking the two states. Both Bahrain and Qatar have ended a deep border dispute after the International court of justice had released a verdict to this effect, accepted by the two sides.
