Intensive Syrian- Lebanese contacts

Lebanese official sources told the London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily on Monday that high ranking contacts are being made between Beirut and Damascus towards regional developments towards the formation of an Israeli government by Sharon and the tour of the US defense secretary Colen Powel to the region.

These sources expected the convening of a summit meeting between President Bashar al-Assad and President Emil Lahoud, noting that the two coming weeks require highest caution.
