King Mohammed receives airbus chief

Originally published

Morocco's King Mohammed VI received Thursday in Tangiers Noel Forgeard, president of the European plane construction company Airbus, who was accompanied by Abdellah Sbai, Airbus vice-president for North Africa and Middle East.

Airbus won end of last year a tender to sell four airbus airliners to the Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM). The four Airbus 321-200 will be delivered to RAM over the 2003-2012 period.

In statements to the press after the meeting, Forgeard voiced satisfaction over the trust put in his company by RAM. He announced that the A 321 airliners will shortly start servicing lines between Morocco and France.

Forgeard said he briefed the king on the projects Airbus intends to conduct in Morocco, particularly the works that will be entrusted to the Moroccan company Maroc-Aviation in relation to the construction of the new A 380 plane that will see the light of day in 2006.
