Euro- Mediterranean conference postponed because of Israel
It was announced in Cairo on Sunday the postponement of the European- Mediterranean conference for the chambers of commerce which was due to be held in Cairo on January 22 and 23. The postponement was made after Egypt's rejection to Israel's participation in this conference.
In a statement, the federation stressed that the meeting was postponed to " an indefinite time" because the federation of the Egyptian chamber of commerce is persistent to refuse Israel's participation.
The federation added in its statement " Our refusal is built on our common stand in refusing to deal with Israel as far as it does not withdraw from the occupied Arab lands, and the Palestinian have not restored their rights." On January 15, the chairman of the Egyptian chambers of commerce Khaled Abu Ismael announced that the federation refuses Israel's participation in the conference.
