10,600 young promoters received loans, says minister

Morocco's Secretary of state to the minister of social economy, small and medium enterprise and handicraft Abdelkrim Benatik said that up to last October, 10,600 young promoters benefited from loans.

Benatik told MPS at question time Wednesday that 1000 of the loans beneficiaries do face problems but that some 600 of them will not be affected by the bill to be enforced as of January 1 because they have all applied for re-scheduling.

A commission including his department and the finance department and the banking sector will be probing cases individually to sort them out according to sectors, difficulties encountered and parties involved, he said.

He insisted the commission will be seriously processing requests and that no young promoter will be imprisoned for debt.
