Tuna-catches in the eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean should be limited to 3,028 metric-tons, Morocco told the 12Th session of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT) convened in Marrakesh.

The cooperation director of the sea-fishery department said the kingdom handed on Friday a document inviting ICCAT to okay its request pending results by the work-committee set up in Marrakesh to define criteria and assign quota of catches for every ICCAT member country.

Limits assigned to the kingdom do not reflect the country's real fishing-capacity and efforts stepped up for a rational, responsible and sustained resource management, he said.
