Tripartite talks in Jordan on Israeli aggression
Egypt's Foreign Minister Amr Moussa arrived in Aqaba Tuesday afternoon to take part in the Egyptian-Jordanian-Palestinian meeting to discuss the current situation in the Palestinian territories.
In pre-departure statements, Moussa said the trilateral meeting would help adopt an Arab stance to stand against the latest developments in the Palestinian territories.
The meeting aims at coordinating the stances of the three countries and discussing what possible steps should be taken as regards the Palestinian cause, he added.
Asked whether this meeting could pave the way for holding an Egyptian-Jordanian-Palestinian summit, Moussa said we are not planning for that at the present but still it is possible.
Moussa denied that this meeting could be the nucleus of holding an expanded Arab meeting.
The inter-Arab meeting came as a result of holding the recent Arab Summit. It is the responsibility of the follow-up committee stemming from the summit to follow up the implementation of the summit's resolutions via its periodical meeting.
The coming committee's meeting will convene next week at the delegations' level, Moussa said. It will convene in Damascus in December, he added.
