Increased chances of war in the Middle East
In an analysis it made on Thursday, the London based daily al-Zamaan said that the chairman of the Israeli military intelligence Lt. Gen. Amous Malka and the chairman of the research department at the Israeli army Maj. Gen. Amoud Glaad stressed the increasing opportunities of war in the Middle East on the ground of escalated confrontations in the West Bank and Gaza.
The paper added that Israel is seeking an outlet for its internal crises and the Intifada bottleneck in fabricating a new war of several objectives and to take this war into outside its borders.
The paper added that Israel wants to drag Hizbullah into military operation that justify its perpetuated aggression against the Arab states, which means that the situation has become explosive.
The paper said that there are several evidences and indicators which prove Israel's war intention. These include the Israeli army installation of the anti ground- missiles " Heits " missiles, the Israeli warplanes violations of the Lebanese territories and the arrival of the Israeli submarine Dulphine which was built by Germany before its due date of arrival.
The paper added that among the other evidences on Israel's intention to launch a war is summoning it " reserve military forces" and declaring the state of alert.
The paper explains that Israel views with great concern the improvement on the relations between Syria, Iraq and Iran, manifested in the visit made by the Iraqi vice- President Izzat Ibrahim to Syria, a visit which will lead to a regional strategic change.
Moreover, the visit of the Syrian vice President ( Abdul Halim Khaddam) to Turkey and the visit of the Jordanian prime minister to Iraq also annoyed Israel. And this was explained " the Israeli way" as the establishment of a strategic networking that includes Syria, Iraq and Iran, even though it is not a strategic alliance, Israel finds in it an annoying problem for it is especially concerned with the improvement in the relations between Iraq and Iran.
The paper continued that the Lebanese voice which demand the withdrawal of the Syrian army from lebanon fall in the course of the Israeli media campaign to justify its military preparations. Al-Zamaan said that the Israeli scheme is not limited to strike Hizbullah and the infrastructure in Lebanon as well as the Syrian forces in Lebanon, rather Israel seeks to strike the Syrian military machine and the Syrian army might, as well.
