Due to the escalation of clashes in the Palestinian territories and the killing of four Israelis on Monday, the Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak canceled the meetings he had upon arriving in London for an early return to Israel.

The Israeli army radio said that Barak who was in Chicago to take part in the annual conference of the American Jews organization was supposed to have talks in London with the British prime minister Tony Blair and with the secretary general of the UN Kofi Annan.

The Israeli radio indicated that the Israeli prime minister decided to come return early to Israel to take part in the urgent consultations by the so-called security government, especially with the military officials and heads of intelligence departments on the new military measures that should be taken against the unarmed Palestinians.

On Monday, the Israeli armed force imposed following the killing of the Israeli, a siege on eight Palestinian cities that fall under the self-rule authority in the West Bank and under the full supervision of the Palestinian government.
