Originally published

A memorandum of understanding covering military and intelligence cooperation was signed on Sunday between Ukraine and Israel.

The memorandum was signed following the talks held between the president of the Ukraine and the visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Meanwhile, Israel Radio quoted Israeli military sources as saying that the memorandum is an important Israeli accomplishment and will allow Israel to sell defense equipment to Ukraine.

The radio report also said Netanyahu is proposing the enlargement of all-out cooperation between Russia and Israel.

Further reports say that sources in Netanyahu's office disclosed on Sunday that Netanyahu intends to bring in a number of Georgian Jews aboard his private plane to settle in Israel. This will be scheduled at the end of his current tour of a number of ex-Soviet Union countries.

The sources added that Netanyahu asked the Israeli missions in the Ukraine, Russia and Georgia to reactivate their efforts in this respect, Israel Radio reported.
