Coastal fishing confederation calls for balanced partnership with EU
The Moroccan coastal fishery confederation called for support to moves meant to secure a balanced partnership with the European Union in processing and marketing of sea-products.
The confederation argues there is no fishing surplus to offer foreign partners and underscores negative effects of European over-fishing in Moroccan waters on the national fleet and the 400,000 people working in the fishing sector.
The confederation renews backing to the government decision not to pass fishing agreements with other countries saying Moroccan waters are the exclusive domain for Moroccan operators alone.
