Casablanca traditional fishing sector backs government

Associations of owners of traditional fishing boats in Casablanca conveyed Fishery minister Said Chbaatou their total support to the Moroccan government in its efforts to reach a fair fishery agreement with the European Union. Both sides underscored the importance of the traditional fishing sector despite its leading social and economic role.

In the meeting in Rabat Friday, the minister and representatives of the sector in Casablanca traded views on Moroccan-EU dialog and cooperation in the exploitation of the kingdom's fish resources.
