King Mohammed launches container-terminal extension
Morocco's King Mohammed launched in Casablanca on Monday extension works of the East container-terminal in Casablanca harbor.
To meet growing demand the harbor authority ODEP will be expanding the terminal, 6.5 extra hectares, for the next two years with a total cost of about 43.8 million USD half of the amount going to infrastructure, and the other half to equipment, studies and control.
The extra space will dramatically reduce time spent by ships at quay, handling costs and stocking capacity. 220 linear meters will help receive second-generation container-carriers with a 2,000 unit capacity cutting freight expenses.
