Qatar refuses a Syrian, Saudi request to close Israeli trade office

Originally published

The London- based al-Zamaan daily said on Tuesday that the state of Qatar has refused a request proposed by Syria and Saudi Arabia to close down the Israeli trade office in Doha.

The paper added that this came after Arab diplomats denounced the Qatari performance during the urgent summit held in Cairo when Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani, the ruler of Qatar, committed himself to special relations with Israel.

These diplomats told al-Zamaan that Qatar ensured further protection to the Israeli office in Doha instead of closing it.
