Israel escalated its procedures against the Palestinians after the end of the exceptional Arab summit in Cairo the day before yesterday.

Ihud Barak, the Israeli prime minister, yesterday closed Gaza international airport in the south east of Rafah city till a further notice.

Some of the Palestinian sources beleived that the closure decision came to challenge the summit's resolutions and the declarations of the Palestinian president in which he said 'to hell with Barak."

The aviation movement stopped in the airport as soon as the closure declaration.

The general manager of the of the civil aviation authority Soleiman Abu Habib said that the Israeli side informed him with Barak's decision to close the airport without giving reason.
