Arafat accepts continuation of uprising

Israeli and US intelligence sides, including the CIA said that the Palestinian Presdient Yasser Arafat has accepted the advise recommended by Mahmoud Abbas and others old cadres of the Palestine Liberation Organization to continue the armed uprising until the independence of the state of Palestine.

The Israeli radio said on Sunday, and according to these sources, that Arafat refused the advise made by certain Palestinian officials including Muhammad Dahlan and Muhammad Rashid to reach an agreement with Israel.

The radio added that this intelligence assessment was submitted recently to the US President Bill Clinton and to the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
