Princess Lalla Meryem urges UNICEF to end violence against Palestinian children

Originally published

Morocco's Princess Lalla Meryem urged director general of the UNICEF to endeavor for the end of violence against Palestinian children and to make "an assessment of the situation" in the Palestinian territories.

In a cable to Carol Bellamy over the tragedy of Palestinian children, the princess calls the UNICEF to promote awareness to ensure medical, psychological and social rehabilitation of children.

She also considers crimes against children as a shock for all children, their fathers and mothers as well as for all human consciences.

The princess cable also deplores that the premeditated violations and the violence used were perpetrated as the international community was standing by, although it had pledged throughout the international conventions to put children supreme interest on top of all other considerations and to secure the protection of children against all forms of violence.
