Arab communications conference begins in Alexandria
A conference on the development of communications in the Arab work began in the Egyptian Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria Monday with the participation of over 300 experts and communications officials from 18 Arab states.
Representatives of 15 regional and international communications and information organizations, as well as officials from 35 Arab and international communications technology companies are taking part in the conference, organized by the regional communications federation.
Head of the regional communications bureau in Cairo Mohammad Abdunnabi told reporters the conferees would prepare for the international conference for the development of communications, due in the Egyptian capital next May. He said they would discuss Arab communications networks, outcome of the international radio conference which was held in Istanbul last May and ways of backing the regional bureau in the Arab region.
Future communications' needs in Arab states also feature on the agenda, he said.
