Solitary kayak expedition for human rights stops in Tangiers
A solitary expedition in Kayak by US Denis Jones in support of human rights stopped Sunday off Tangiers as a big swell capsized the small boat.
Jones was saved by a Moroccan fishing boat crew as he was battling for survival.
According to the northern city port authorities, Denis Jones was sailing for South Africa but his adventure came to a halt some miles away. He was brought back to Tangiers sound and safe but convinced that the trip is too dangerous.
Denis Jones left last June 30 Geneva for a trip that would have led him to South Africa where a world conference against racism, intolerance and xenophobia is scheduled.
