Islamic trade fair in Doha

The 8th edition of the Islamic trade fair will be held October 5-20 in Doha, Qatar, on the generic theme of "peace and development."

The fair, sponsored by the Casablanca-based Islamic Center for the Development of Trade, features commercial and cultural activities as well as promotion meetings of member countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

Round tables on "new options for investments in Qatar," "Islamic banks in the new millenium: realities and challenges" and "management strategies for private firms and action plans" are also slated during the fair.

The event will be attended by representatives of the Islamic Development Bank, the Islamic Chamber for the Development of Trade and other bodies.

The 7th edition of the fair was held in Lebanon in 1998.
