Malaysia hosts conference on pilgrimage management

Some 50 Islamic countries are expected to attend the first formal conference on pilgrimage management beginning here on Sept 30, Malaysian news agency BERNAMA reported.

Twenty-seven Haj Ministers are among 150 officials responsible for Haj management expected to attend the three-day meeting.

Malaysia's pilgrimage management and fund board's senior general manager of Haj department Dr Azmi Ahmad said four working papers from Malaysia, Senegal, Turkey and Jordan would be discussed at the conference sponsored by the Saudi Arabian government.

The conference, among others, is aimed at finding the best module for haj management to be adopted by Islamic countries.
