A new ambassador for Israel in Jordan
A Jordanian official source said Israel's new ambassador in Amman David Dadoun on Wednesday submitted his credentials to the Jordanian King Abdullah II.
Dadoun is Israel's third ambassador to Jordan since the signing of the peace treaty between the two countries in 1994. He will exceeds Odid Eiran who was one year earlier assigned to chair the Israeli side in the negotiations with the Palestinians.
Dadoun was born in Morocco in 1949. He had a BA in French Literature and history from the Hebrew university.
He submitted his credentials as an ambassador for Israel few hours before the beginning of the works of the joint Israeli- Jordanian committee in charge of following up bilateral relations and projects.
The advisor for the Israeli prime minister for security affairs Dani Yatoum will preside over the Israeli side to these meetings and he will meet with the advisor of the Jordanian King Samih al-Bateikhi, who is also the director of the Jordanian intelligence and with the foreign minister Abdul Illah al-Khatib.
These meetings, however, are part of the talks the Jordanian King Abdullah held last week in Tel Aviv with Barak. Part of the meeting was dedicated to bilateral relations.
