Kidnapper of the Jordanian plane hid weapons in a recorder
Jordanian minister of transport Mahmoud al-Kalakdah has stated that the Syrian Mahmoud Rizq Deib who tried last Wednesday to kidnap a plane for the Jordanian royal airline while flying from Amman to Damascus could hide a pistol and bomb inside a recorder.
A statement released by the minister's office said that Deib who has his two children ( 3 and 5 years old with him) and his brother, could bring the recorder with him into the plane after he could escape the tough security measures at the airport in Amman" by investing the innocence of children who carried the recorder which was emptied from its content and gave it to his daughter after the airport employee refused to let this recorder into the plane. Deib begged the recorder to be permitted into the plane because it is of a sensitive material and will be broken if not carried by hand."
The Jordanian paper " al-Arab al-Youm" said in this respect that the kidnapper wrapped the bomb and the pistol with tin leaves before he hide it in the already emptied recorder.
Deib was intending to high-jack the plane to Germany where he used to work as a mechanic few years ago. This was after several futile attempts to travel back to Germany but in vain.
