Syrian Parliament to convene special meeting Tuesday to announce results of the referendum

The Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly (PA) Abdul Qader Qaddoura has released a decision provides for inviting the PA for a special session to start as from Tuesday, July 11, 2000. He defined the agenda of this session as to announce results of the public referendum for nomination of Lt. Gen. Bashar al-Assad for the Syrian Presidency. The referendum will be on Monday, July 10th.
