The president of the university of Nouakchott and the deans of the university schools are currently visiting Morocco to further cooperation between the two states' universities.

The visiting delegation held a meeting Thursday with speaker of the chamber of advisors, Jalal Essaid, that reviewed the role of universities in promoting democracy values.

Jalal Essaid stressed the need to involve all living forces in the promotion of relations between the two countries while keeping in mind the perspective of the construction of a united Arab Maghreb, likely to materialize the region peoples' aspiration to development and democracy.

The parliamentarians and the academics, he said, share responsibility in promoting the values of democracy and in educating mounting generations.

The Nouakchott University president hailed Morocco's tireless backing to Mauritania in the realms of science and culture and said the Mauritanian people is following with admiration the development and progress scored by Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. Morocco, he added, is one of the leading models in matters of democracy.
