Al-Assad gets a message from Emir of Bahrain

President Hafez al-Assad on Sunday received a message from the Emir of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa Bin Salman al-Khaleifa.

The message was handed over to the Syrian foreign minister Farouk al-Shara who received Bahrain's minister for the Cabinet affairs and information Muhammad Ibrahim Mutwai.

Present the meeting was Bahrain's ambassador in Damascus.

Meantime, Syrian information minister Adnan Omran on Sunday discussed with Bahrain's minister for Cabinet affairs and information minister Ibrahim al-Mutwaií cooperation relations between the two states in the information field and means of improving them.

The two ministers stressed the need of reactivating Arab mass media and its role to cope with developments and events and to deal with them with more credibility and objectivity.

The two ministers also discussed the need for using the Arab media as a tool to consolidate Arab's unity and to show more commitment to Arab values and principles.
