Palestinian official: Last Palestinian- Israeli negotiations did not achieve progress

Marwan Kanafani, the spokesman of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, said that the Palestinian - Israeli negotiations which recently took place in Eilat did not achieve any progress, saying that Israel wants to submit the Palestinians to Israeli conditions and to accept any Israeli proposals. He added that Israel has nothing new in its stance and that the Israeli delegation again raised unacceptable issues that do not form joint grounds for understanding and discussion. He said Israel wants to divide the territories, not meet the deadlines, delay the important issues and trying to give some facilities in return for continuing Israeli policies.
