Syrian Cabinet meets on al-Shara's statement, approves bills
The Syrian Cabinet on Tuesday held its weekly meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Mustafa Miro.
In this meeting, Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara briefed the Cabinet ministers on the current political developments in the Arab and international arenas, especially those pertaining to the important results of the Cairo summit held between Syrian President Hafez al-Assad and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, as well as the positive results of the three-way meeting of the foreign ministers of Syria, Egypt and Saudi Arabia held in Palmyra.
Al-Shara stressed that the international interest in Palmyra's three-way meeting had also covered all provisions mentioned in this statement, especially the clear support for the just demands of both Syria and Lebanon, according to UN resolutions.
He continued, "Eventually Israel would have received a clear message through Palmyra's statement in that it will not be able to impose its conditions towards the implementation of UN resolutions 425, and 426 before or after its unilateral withdrawal from Lebanon."
Then, the Cabinet ministers approved the amendment of item 130 on criminal trials of the legislative decree no.112 of 1950.
The Cabinet ministers approved the ratification of the two agreements on avoiding double taxation and preventing escaping income tax with both Algeria and Iran. The Cabinet also approved the bill to ratify the agreement to found the Islamic establishment for the private sector development with the Islamic Development Bank.
